Soul Patch is a high energy groove machine that drops fat funky beats and keeps dance floors hopping. Featuring the powerhouse vocals of Kira Haug, Soul Patch is a dance floor phenomena from the 90's that just keeps coming back for more. Originally formed by Kira and guitarist Jon Treichel in the late 90's the band has been through many incarnations over the years while somehow managing to remain true to their original mission: pack the dance floor. The current lineup is a hard hitting one made up of original keyboard player and multi-instrumentalist Kris Ruston on organ; the remarkably funky string popper Neil Brun on bass; and the amazing Aaron Anderson on drums. Along with Kira and Jon these guys can groove like there is no tomorrow. If you like original and classic R&B and funky soul music and you have a hankering to let it all hang out, look no further than Soul Patch.
Fourth place Canadian Idol contestant and Sony BMG Canada recording artist Suzi Rawn, has been involved in music from a young age. Performing and recording in Canada, the Virgin Islands and Ireland, Suzi has moved from pop music to folk, then hard rock (with her band King Size Suzi) and finally the blues. Joining Suzi is longtime friend and collaborator Jon Treichel, well known in the Southern Interior for his many different musical projects including Soul Patch, The Scattered Atoms, Earthbound, The Cathi Marshall band and stints with Henry Small, Darby Mills and many others including the Kamloops Symphony. Together they founded the Suz n’ Jonny’s Blues Band, with their own arrangements of classic blues songs as well as old school soul and R&B. Another key ingredient to the group’s dynamic is drummer and vocalist Richard Graham, who has appeared as a drummer and singer with various artists at Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Roots & Blues Festival and is experienced touring as a sideman in the U.S. and Canada. He’s been contracted in theatre, orchestra and his groups the Backbeats & Infectuals are a focus but he also divides his time as a feature vocalist and drummer with BC Living Arts, TRU Fine Arts, and WCT. Along with bassist Neil Brun, the band has spent the past couple of years playing the summer circuit at weekly music events and festivals at Shuswap lake, Kamloops, and surrounding areas, as well as private functions, weddings, pubs and other gigs. Recently, however, Suz n’ Jonny’s Blues band has been focusing more on recording and original material, in hopes of expanding their horizons.
